This Privacy Policy applies to all users of the Service, including dance studios and parents or legal guardians. Children do not create accounts or directly use the Service.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information Entered by Dance Studios

Dance studios may enter:

  • Child's name and age
  • Parent or guardian email address and phone number
  • Dance class enrollment information

This information:

  • Is provided by adults
  • Is accessible only to the dance studio that entered it
  • Is not sold or shared with unrelated third parties

2.2 Information Provided by Parents

Parents may provide:

  • Costume measurements specific to a selected costume

Payment information is processed by Stripe and is not stored by Sequin.

3. Payments

All payments are securely processed by Stripe, a third-party payment processor. Sequin does not collect or store sensitive payment information. Stripe's use of personal information is governed by its own privacy policy.

4. Communications & Service Providers

We use trusted third-party providers to operate the Service, including:

  • Twilio for SMS notifications
  • Mailgun for email communications
  • Cloud-based hosting providers

These providers receive only the information necessary to perform their services and are contractually required to protect it.

5. Parent Portal Security

Parent access is provided through secure, encrypted links that:

  • Are unique to the recipient
  • Expire after a limited time
  • Can be revoked or regenerated
  • Require matching contact information for access

6. Data Retention & Deletion

We retain personal information only as long as necessary to provide the Service.

  • Deletion requests may be submitted to support@sequin.app
  • Requests made during an active costume campaign may prevent participation
  • Deletion is honored once operationally feasible

7. Children's Privacy (COPPA Compliance)

Sequin complies with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).

  • We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13
  • All child data is provided by parents or dance studios acting as legal guardians
  • Parents may request access to or deletion of their child's information at any time

8. Data Security

We implement reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect personal information. However, no system can be guaranteed to be 100% secure.

9. California Privacy Rights

California residents may request access to or deletion of their personal information by contacting support@sequin.app.

10. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Updates will be posted on the Service and reflected by a revised "Last Updated" date. Continued use of the Service after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
